Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before, during, and after your piercing experience.

You've Got Questions, We've Got Answers!

Appointments

We recommend booking in advance via our online system at any time of day. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability, but booking guarantees your preferred time slot and piercer.

We pierce clients of all ages, starting at 3 years old. Clients under the age of 18 require a parent or legal guardian present with a valid, government-issued photo ID. The guardian must sign our consent form at the time of the appointment.

Most standard appointments take 15–30 minutes depending on the piercing type and whether you're selecting jewelry from our collection. Complex or multiple placements may take longer. We always build in time for a consultation so you feel comfortable before we start.

Eat a full meal before your appointment to keep your blood sugar stable. Wear comfortable clothing that provides easy access to the piercing area. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours beforehand. Arrive with a clean body and without heavy makeup or creams near the piercing site.

Aftercare

Clean your piercing twice daily with a sterile saline wound wash spray. Avoid touching with unwashed hands. Do not rotate or move the jewelry. Avoid pools, hot tubs, lakes, and submerging the piercing in water during healing. Do not apply ointments, alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide. Healing times vary: lobes typically 3–6 months, cartilage 6–12+ months.

Healing times vary significantly by placement. Earlobes typically heal in 3–6 months. Cartilage piercings (helix, daith, tragus, etc.) can take 6–12 months or longer. Navel piercings can take 6–12 months. Always follow your piercer's specific aftercare instructions for your placement.

Some redness, swelling, and clear/white discharge in the first few weeks is normal healing. Signs that may indicate infection include excessive redness spreading outward, increasing pain after the first few days, green or yellow pus, fever, or a hot sensation. If you're concerned, contact us or see a healthcare provider promptly. Do not remove the jewelry, as this can trap the infection.

Jewelry

We carry BVLA (Body Vision Los Angeles), Tawapa, Anatometal, and other premium brands. All jewelry in our studio meets or exceeds ASTM F136 implant-grade standards and is safe for fresh piercings. We carry options in implant-grade titanium, solid 14k gold, and solid 18k gold.

For fresh piercings, we strongly recommend using jewelry from our collection. We use only implant-grade, body-safe materials that promote healthy healing. Jewelry from other sources may contain metals or finishes that can cause irritation or slow healing. If you have jewelry you'd like us to evaluate for safety, bring it in and we'll take a look.

We recommend having your first jewelry change done by your piercer to ensure proper technique and healing assessment. Don't rush the timeline. Changing jewelry too early is one of the most common causes of irritation and extended healing. Come see us and we'll let you know when you're ready.
